When I saw the photo here that Marie Labbancz took, I was surprisingly touched. It was a reminder and represented so much… the long life of a grandmother, and the fact that she could celebrate and share in her grandchild’s wedding. We are always so involved with the bride, groom, and their parents that sometimes it is easy to forget that this is an amazingly special day for grandparents, aunts and uncles, siblings, and other relatives and close friends.
In one of my favorite processionals, the groom walked down the aisle escorted by his two grandmothers. It was such an emotional moment! The expression on Jonathan’s face, and on the faces of his grandmothers, was one of such happiness. It was absolutely contagious, and all who were assembled enjoyed this special moment, watching the three of them.
How wonderful to be surrounded by such love on your wedding day!
Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving and much to be thankful for.
