Bottoms Up!
As a wedding planner, I am a big fan of signature drinks.
First, it means that something interesting can be butlered or made available without guests having to line up for it.
Second, it is another way that a couple can personalize their wedding by sharing their favorite libations. Some are a special drink, some have a special name, and some are a special color.
And third, it is always a conversation starter.
And so, here are some that I have seen (but NOT tasted- that is the plight of the wedding planner who is WORKING!) guests enjoy. Wish I could credit the creators of each, but the individuals behind these are unknown to me!
Murphy’s Magic. Orange cotton candy in a small martini glass. Mojito poured over it from a shaker. Cotton candy melts and the drink turns orange!
The House Drink. St. Germain, vodka or gin, lime juice
Berry-vodka caipiroska- muddled mixed berries, Stoli vodka, sweet and sour mix, Royal Combier, splash of tonic, garnished with fruit roll up straw
The Fairmount: Bluecoat gin, St. Germain, Limonata, lemon, lime, mint leaves. To be served in a highball glass
Martini at Tiffany’s. 1 part Stoli, 1 part Malibu Rum, ½ part Curacao (blu), ½ part pineapple juice
Blue Lemonade in small milk bottles with straws (looked great). Lemonade with a dash of blue curacao and a dash of vodka
The 9-1-4: raspberry vodka, lemonade and soda
Tipsy Arnold Palmer: sweetened iced tea, vodka, lemonade, mint leaf and lemon garnish
The Blushing Bride. Stoli orange vodka, raspberry liqueur, pineapple juice, splash of cranberry juice, topped with champagne
Something Blue. Malibu rum, blue Curacao, pineapple juice and cream of coconut
Wedding Cake Martini. Stoli vanilla vodka, Malibu rum, pineapple juice and grenadine
“Purple Passion”. 1 ¼ oz. vodka, ¾ oz. triple sec, 2 splashes of grape juice, 1 splash of cranberry juice.
Serve it in a tulip or hurricane glass with a wedge of lime on the rim.
Lemon 3X: fresh squeezed lemonade, lemon vodka, limoncello, rimmed with lemon zest infused sugar, fresh mint garnish
Spiced iced black tea. Black tea, bourbon, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice
Sweet on You: Champagne, raspberry vodka, club soda in a champagne flute with yellow, pink, red sprinkles (aka jimmies!) around the rim
