Sustainable Weddings and Best Practices
I went to a coffee shop today, in between meetings, and picked up a small magazine that I had never seen before. It is called Grid, Toward a Sustainable Philadelphia, and I was hooked by the cover that said, Let Love Rule… Stay sane while you say “I do.” As a Philadelphia wedding planner, of course I had to sit and read the whole issue immediately. There were some wonderful tips and advice about how Philadelphia weddings can really be a reflection of the couple’s values, and the issue provided lots of resources and ideas.
I was moving right along and, on page 35, I came across a very familiar photo! One of “my” couples, Cate and Dave, were featured sitting on Little Baby’s Ice Cream cart at their wedding. I loved the photo then, and I still do. And it was wonderful to see all the ways they were able to include Philadelphia wedding professionals and other Philadelphia vendors at their wedding. Sullivan Owen, Posey Booth, the Papery, Maggpie Vintage, Little Baby’s Ice Cream, the Fairmount Horticultural Center, Stephen Starr Catering, and of course I DO Wedding Consulting are among the local businesses who worked on this wedding and helped keep everything close to home.
