As a Philadelphia wedding planner, I have had the opportunity to see so many different weddings, with so many personal touches. What makes a wedding even more special, I think, is the sharing of personal touches, the items, decor, music, or flowers that could really only be part of that wedding and no one else’s. And it is wonderful to see how two cultures combine and how traditions are shared.
It was such a treat to help Adam and Yana. The guests shared a toast with vodka that the bride’s father had infused with cranberries, in his Russian tradition. Russian candies were featured on the dessert table, along with a traditional Russian cake (the recipe was provided by the bride) and a cake that was a favorite of Adam’s deceased father (and the recipe was provided by the groom).
These small touches were huge. I always love this part of a wedding celebration.
