I received an unsolicited email, and this is what it said:
My name is XXXXX XXXXX. I just came across idoplan.com. I am impressed with its quality. Keep up the great work!
I’m working to get myself established in the industry, and in order to help make that happen I wanted to offer to write an article for your site at NO COST to you. All I would ask is for a very brief ‘About the Author’ section at the end of the article that has a single link in it to my blog at XXXXXXXX.com.
If you check my site you’ll see that I am very focused on high quality content.
If you’d be interested in working with me on this, please reply and let me know. If not, thank you for taking the time to read this all the same. I appreciate it.
I must confess that my first reaction was to laugh… this person has decided to establish himself as an expert in the field without BEING in the industry?
And if he actually looked at my website, he would have noticed that I currently am writing ALL of the blog posts. And why would I permit him to be on my site? Did he think I would be attracted to the offer because it said there was NO COST involved?
I DO Wedding Consulting is a very personal business. There is not a chance that I would have a stranger write something so that he could have a link from my website to his.
That is just not how it works for me.
No thanks. Not interested.
